Provincial and Federal Parties Meet Together in Portage La Prairie

 WINNIPEG – The Manitoba Liberal Party and the Liberal Party of Canada (in Manitoba) are meeting in Portage La Prairie this weekend to hold their Annual General Meetings concurrently – alternating discussion between provincial and federal issues.  The theme of the AGM is “Ready To Lead” and both the provincial and federal wings of the party agree that greater co-operation is necessary to make gains in Manitoba.

 The AGM is being held at the Canad Inn Portage La Prairie.  The keynote dinner speaker is federal Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff.   The keynote lunch speaker is Manitoba Liberal Leader Dr. Jon Gerrard, who will be outlining his plans to take Manitoba Liberals forward.

 As part of the AGM, Manitoba Liberals will discuss policy resolutions on Manitoba Hydro and referendums, access to information, justice and substance abuse issues, debt reduction, and rural infrastructure.  A list of policy resolutions will be available to delegates when they register.
